Nonprofits have ambitious ideas for improving how they serve their communities. The Box Impact Fund is back for its sixth year to help turn those ideas into action.

From November 5–30, 2026, we’re accepting applications for digital transformation projects in child welfare, crisis response, and environmental protection. Six organizations will each receive a $25,000 grant each, for a total of $150,000 in funding.

Many nonprofits are finding innovative ways to meet growing needs, even as resources remain tight and teams are asked to do more with less. Digital transformation can help organizations make better use of their data, time, and expertise. We’re looking for projects that use technology to solve a meaningful challenge. We’re also interested in how applicants might use AI responsibly to advance their work. Above all, we hope to see a clear connection between the proposed project and the difference it could make for the organization and the people and places it serves.

Last year’s grantees show this spirit of innovation in action.

  • Solar Chapter is developing a platform to map clean water access in eastern Indonesia
  • The Jane Goodall Institute is bringing conservation research and field data together
Children in Conflict is piloting AI to help create and translate educational content for children affected by conflict
  • Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team is expanding community-led mapping for disaster response
  • charity: water is exploring AI-powered monitoring for remote water systems
  • GoodWeave International is improving a platform used to identify and address labor risks in supply chains

As we open the sixth year of the Box Impact Fund, we’re excited to hear from organizations with practical, creative ideas for advancing their missions.

Applications are open November 5–30, 2026. Visit the Box Impact Fund website for eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria, and application details. Please share this opportunity with organizations working in child welfare, crisis response, and environmental protection.
