Again this year, the Box Impact Fund is pleased to support organizations that are using AI and data-driven tools to tackle urgent challenges across Box.org’s focus areas: child welfare, crisis response, and environmental protection. This year’s grantees are tackling a wide range of challenges — protecting wildlife, sustaining water access, strengthening disaster response mapping, improving labor protections in supply chains, expanding educational access for children in areas of conflict — but they share a focus on turning complex, on-the-ground realities into usable insight and action.
We’re so proud to support these inspiring organizations with $25,000 grants to help expand existing initiatives or launch new programs in order to advance their mission-driven services.

- Solar Chapter is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting community development in Nusa Tenggara Timur by working to expand access to clean water and empowering young people to lead local change.
- This grant will help Solar Chapter build out its community-driven platform, Mengalir, which maps water access conditions in eastern Indonesia, and promotes more effective, data-informed interventions, by connecting and validating data from communities, local governments, and NGOs.
- “The Mengalir.co initiative will significantly support the systematic mapping of clean water service conditions across East Nusa Tenggara. The platform will strengthen policy planning processes by informing development planning from district to provincial level. - Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (BAPPERIDA) Team of East Nusa Tenggara

Environment | The Jane Goodall Institute (US)
- The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall's vision of a compassionate, sustainable world where people, animals, and the environment thrive together, advances integrated conservation solutions that help protect wildlife, restore habitats, inspire communities to flourish sustainably, and inspire young leaders worldwide to drive meaningful change.
- The grant will enable JGI to maintain and update its integrated science and knowledge platform, which leverages AI to digitize research, automate chimpanzee identification, digitize decades of chimpanzee research, and analyze real-time field data. This support will also fund an AI chatbot for local decision-makers, and help JGI scale these advanced tools across Africa to strengthen forest protection, support communities, and accelerate science.
- "Science powers everything we do at the Jane Goodall Institute. This support from the Box Impact Fund will help us advance our digital transformation by connecting decades of research with near real-time data from forest monitoring, bioacoustics, and camera traps. By using generative AI to turn complex data into actionable insights, we can expand access to critical knowledge, support community-led conservation across Africa, and carry forward Dr. Goodall's vision for a thriving planet." — Dr. Lilian Pintea, Vice President of Conservation Science, JGI USA

Crisis Response | Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (US)
- The Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) is an international non-profit that creates open GIS tools which empower communities to generate accurate, accessible geographic data. These tools revolutionize disaster management, reduce risks, and contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals by building mapping capacity in the world's most vulnerable regions.
- The grant will support HOT’s programs for training community members in drone operations and AI-assisted mapping, building local capacity for future emergencies and developing a sustainable and proactive approach to disaster response.
- "We’re grateful to the Box Impact Fund for supporting HOTas we extend disaster response to affected areas in Jamaica and other Caribbean territories, deepen our engagement with national and regional disaster-preparedness agencies, and further develop our AI platform for buildings and damage assessments. This investment will help us mitigate crisis impacts, boost response efficiency, and accelerate the ability of agencies to deliver timely support to communities most in need." - Senior Program Manager, Philip Hippolyte
