Today at BoxWorks 2026, we’re introducing Box Architect, an AI partner that will rethink how work gets done across the modern enterprise. Architect will bring the reasoning capabilities of frontier AI models together with the content and procedures already in Box to design workflows, assemble the tools to run them and recommend improvements over time.
For a business process owner, the desired outcome may be clear: onboard a client with complete documentation, review a contract against company requirements or route an insurance claim to the right decision-maker. But actually designing every step, exception and handoff takes a different kind of expertise.
Box Architect will let teams start with that outcome. Rather than reproducing the process a team runs today, Architect will propose the process that best fits the goal, drawing on what frontier models now make possible.
This is more than a faster way to build workflows. It is a way to reimagine how work gets done with agents, with people setting the direction and making the decisions that require judgement.
Start with the outcome
Box Architect will connect three capabilities to help teams move from an idea to a process they can run and improve:
- Design a workflow around your goal. Describe the outcome you want. Architect will draw on your organization’s content and procedures in Box to propose the stages, decisions and handoffs needed to achieve it, as well as the Box components that need to be built or included. Teams can review the proposed approach and refine the assumptions behind it.
- Build the complete solution. Architect will build the supporting forms, metadata templates, AI agents, automations and Box Apps, and link them together into the desired solution. Box Architect doesn't just create agents, but also deploys those agents into the right workflow, like parsing and extracting data from images and pdfs. Because you know your business best, you can easily configure, test, and tailor each agent and workflow to your exact requirements before putting it into production. This will help teams put a process into practice without writing code or configuring every component separately.
- Manage and optimize the process. Box Architect will monitor performance, surface issues such as bottlenecks or recurring missing information, and recommend changes. Process owners will be able to review those recommendations and decide which improvements to apply.

Before deploying a workflow, teams will be able to test it with real content and edge cases, preview agent outputs and routing, and add human reviews and approvals at important decision points.
From an onboarding goal to a working process
Consider a team that wants to make client onboarding more consistent. The team could describe its goal and provide the requirements and procedures from content held in Box. Architect would use that context to propose an intake and review workflow, bringing together the capabilities needed to run it.
The solution could look like this:
- Box Forms collects the application.
- Box Extract identifies key information in the submitted documents and adds it as metadata.
- The workflow triages missing details, routes uncertain cases to a person and moves approved applications to the next stage.
- Box Doc Gen and Box Sign support agreement generation and signature
- A Box App gives the team a clear view of progress.
After deployment, Architect could identify recurring gaps in submissions or delays at a particular review stage and recommend improvements. The team would retain control over the changes it makes.
“The real opportunity with AI is not just helping individuals work faster, but rethinking how entire business processes get done,” said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box.

Frontier Intelligence brings together the best of Box
Box Architect will bring together capabilities including Box Extract, Box Automate, Box Apps, Box Forms, Box Doc Gen and Box Sign.
Customers will be able to choose models from providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, NVIDIA and IBM, using lower-cost models for simpler steps and more advanced models for complex reasoning. That flexibility will help teams match intelligence and cost to the work each step requires.
The content will remain in Box, governed by existing permissions and policies. Human review can be built into the workflow, so agents can handle content analysis and routine steps while people assess exceptions and make consequential decisions.
IT teams and Box administrators will be able to manage workflow ownership, governance and performance centrally, and publish and standardise workflows across the enterprise.
