Welcoming our new Chief Information Security Officer, Lakshmi Hanspal!
Today, I'm excited to announce Lakshmi Hanspal as our new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Lakshmi joins us with more than 20 years of experience in information security, risk management and privacy. In the role of CISO, Lakshmi will be responsible for Box's cyber security practice, security operations and data and platform protection.
At Box, security and privacy is central to everything we do and because of this, it was critical to hire a CISO that could scale our world-class security organization while also being a trusted partner and champion to our customers. We're delighted to have found that individual in Lakshmi.
Lakshmi has a long history of leadership in Security and Privacy. She is joining us from SAP Ariba where she served as Chief Security Officer. Prior to SAP Ariba, Lakshmi was the senior leader for Information Security and Risk at PayPal, and before that, she spent 10 years at the Bank of America as a Senior Vice President. Lakshmi advises several Silicon Valley start-ups and serves on the advisory boards of numerous cloud companies. She is also passionate about engaging and promoting Women in technology and developing talent within teams. In her personal life, Lakshmi is an active volunteer within the community and coaches youth sports.
"In today's world, security threats have become persistent, and compliance and privacy are only getting more complex. This coupled with the fact that the nature of work is dramatically changing driven by a new generation of worker with different expectations and cultural norms, makes it imperative that organizations move to secure and compliant cloud services, such as Box, to protect their most critical information. With more than 90,000 customers, including 70% of the Fortune 500, trusting Box with their digital transformation, I can’t think of a more exciting time to join the team to deliver secure cloud content management - and have a little fun doing it!"
Welcome to Box, Lakshmi!
