Happy Two Year Boxiversary, Box Poland!

Time flies when you’re building the world’s leading Content Cloud! This December officially marks two years since we opened our doors in Warsaw back in 2020. Since then, we’ve hired close to 250 employees (and counting!), tapping into Poland’s world-class engineering and English-speaking software development talent pools. In fact, Poland-based Boxers now represent over 40% of critical engineering roles across Box’s global engineering teams, with a focus on critical processing activities that are central to Box’s central product roadmap and overall strategic growth.

Not only are our Boxers in Poland driving major advancements across our suite of products, they are also dedicated to building a culture that is hyper-focused on giving back. From partnering with the Humanosh Foundation and Ukraiński Dom to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees, to renovating a garden in a newly-opened home for homeless youth in Warsaw with the Po Drugie Foundation, the team actively supports local non-profit organisations. Just in the past week, Box Poland partnered with local groups Szlachetna Paczka (Noble Gift) and Swięty Mikołaj dla Seniora (Santa Claus for Seniors) as part of Box’s Global Impact Day.

For Box Poland, leading with a community-first mindset has also meant engaging Boxers from around the globe. In October, local Boxers partnered with Mosaic, a Box Employee Resource Community, to host a Ukrainian Refugee Awareness Spotlight. Open to all employees, the event aimed to support and connect with the Ukrainian community by hearing directly from Ukrainian refugees on their stories and experiences of being forced to flee from their home country. An extremely special and moving event, it demonstrated how our Polish Boxers are leading with the “Make Mom Proud” value top-of-mind.

“What a difference two years can make. In 2020, we set out in Poland with a hiring target of 150 employees by 2023. Now, with a team surpassing 250 Boxers, Box Poland includes Boxers in a wide-array of functions including software engineering, productivity engineering, security and compliance, information security, people operations, and more. I am incredibly proud of the team’s hard work and dedication to building a truly world-class Research and Development site in Poland.” - Rafal Szczepanski, Senior Director of Engineering and Site Leader in Poland

With the growing team and strategic decisions to increase our data center capabilities in Poland, we remain committed to increasing our footprint in Poland and the rest of Europe. This includes bolstering our services to customers in the region. To date, we have hundreds of customers in Poland that have adopted Box’s secure content management capabilities to protect their most valuable content and accelerate critical business processes.

"Poland is a central to our international growth opportunity, both in terms of continuing to build a world-class research and development team and in growing our European customer base. Since opening our Warsaw site just under two years ago, our rapid hiring and expansion demonstrates a long-term commitment to Poland. From a customer perspective, it is tremendous to see the great work that leading Polish companies such as Polpharma Biologics are doing in partnership with Box. We are seeing momentum in critical industries such as life sciences, engineering and manufacturing, and are excited to continue to grow our customer footprint in Poland as more companies turn to Box for cloud content management." - Sebastien Marotte, President of Europe, Box

It goes without saying that we could not have had such a successful two years without the support of local partners. The Polish Trade and Investment Agency and the Global Data Alliance were integral to our successful growth and expansion in Poland thus far, and we are very thankful for their expertise and support as we continue on our journey. We are also excited to have joined the Cloud Community Europe Poland and look forward to working together to develop the next generation of cloud technology in Poland.

In early Spring 2023, we’re excited to move from our temporary office space in Varso Place into the newly finished Varso Tower. Officially the EU’s tallest building, Varso Tower will give us the space to grow as we continue to expand our team far into the future. Did we mention we’re still hiring? If you’d like to join one of Warsaw’s fastest growing technology teams, check out our open roles.

Do zobaczenia wkrótce!
