Content Cloud Summit 2023: Big ideas and practical ways to transform your business
For companies faced with three seemingly competing challenges — protecting content, driving productivity, and simplifying the IT stack — what’s the answer? This is the question we’re addressing at today’s Content Cloud Summit, an event designed to help admins and developers get the most out of their content, build the best experiences for users, and ultimately drive change across the organization.
The big news today:
Box AI: We announced a brand-new set of AI capabilities that will enable you to unlock the value of your content
Box Shuttle: Now generally available, you can migrate all your content to the Content Cloud directly from the Box Admin Console
Box Canvas: Our natively integrated visual collaboration and whiteboarding tools are now available to all customers
AI in the Content Cloud
Nowhere is AI more powerful than when it’s combined with your enterprise content, so we’re incredibly excited to announce Box AI, a new suite of capabilities that will amplify the value of your enterprise content by leveraging the best of breakthrough AI — all in the Content Cloud. While the opportunities are endless, here are three:
Look inside a sales contract and quickly find information like entitlements or renewal dates for product teams
Help convert key stats to OKRs without having to weed through reams of metrics
Quickly draft job postings based on internal docs like hiring notes
Box AI will be a powerful tool in the Content Cloud, enabling people within your organization to create content faster — whether from scratch or when generating new materials from existing information. Box AI will also make it easier than ever to uncover and share insights and find timely answers to critical questions from within your existing content. Box AI will help accelerate your business, get you insights faster, and unlock value from your data.
Right off the bat, Box AI will allow you to leverage leading AI in our partnership with OpenAI. But Box AI is ultimately platform agnostic — just like the rest of Box. With a goal of giving customers peace of mind so they can bring AI to their content — safely — we are committed to being transparent about our AI practices, algorithms, vendors, and data usage.

Content migration for everyone with Box Shuttle
If you’re like most companies, your content is dispersed across many apps and servers. Pulling it all together in the Content Cloud gives you access to the stuff you need with the tools you love to use — protected by enterprise-grade security and compliant with industry regulations.
To help make this happen, we’re excited to announce the next generation of our content migration solution: Box Shuttle is now a part of the Box Admin Console. That means organizations can migrate content from the array of tools they manage into the Content Cloud, without leaving Box.
While in beta, Box Shuttle in the Admin Console has already enabled:
A large organization with a failing file server to migrate content to Box without having to separately license tools, saving the company from loss of critical archival data
A regulated company to consolidate two separate acquisitions (with separate source tools) into Box within just six weeks
A global retail brand to migrate end-to-end product development processes (from design to distribution) off of various sources into Box, including both active and archival data
A real estate firm to use Box Shuttle for user-requested, file-by-file migration of needed archival data with ease, before decommissioning and deleting unneeded data
Starting today, Box Shuttle is generally available as part of the Box Admin Console. And for organizations that still want hands-on assistance — migration planning, tool operation, change management, unique migrations, and more — our Box Consulting team also offers a slew of migration services.

Driving productivity and powering collaboration
Your users are demanding new ways of collaborating and staying productive, and we’re here to help. Our recent innovations like Box Canvas and Box Sign let you provide best-in-class tools to your users, while you stay confident that your data is secure (since it's all in Box).
Now available to all Box customers, Box Canvas is a secure, Box-native tool that offers teams infinite space to organize data and spread thoughts out visually. It’s a shared space to connect in real time and keep stakeholders engaged during meetings. Coming soon to Canvas: exciting new mobile and web features will include annotation resolution and threaded replies.

And with Box Sign, you can now take advantage of three brand new integrations:
Initiate signature requests directly from your preferred email client with mxHERO
Create, sign, and manage documents within ServiceNow with the Reva Solutions integration
Capture e-signatures in applications built on Form.io’s form, API, and data management platform
Coming soon to Box Sign are advanced signature request management capabilities like recipient groups, the ability to delegate e-signatures, and something many life sciences customers have asked us for: support for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance in Box Sign to power FDA-regulated use cases.
In the domain of productivity and collaboration, there’s even more being announced at Content Cloud today, including:
Dynamic naming available in Box Relay to customize workflows to meet your automation needs
Key upcoming enhancements to Box Notes, including the ability to rich-embed video and audio from non-Box sources
We invite Box users to check out all these new products and features, kick the tires, and give us feedback.
Protecting your valuable content
The risk landscape is ever evolving, and regulations — especially related to privacy — are becoming increasingly important. The Content Cloud gives you a single content platform with security built in, ready-made to support compliance with industry and global regulations. Some of the new security features we’re announcing today include:
Enhanced Box Shield admin capabilities: Soon, admins will be able configure Box to move swiftly from threat detection to threat protection — by forcibly logging users out to prevent access to content from pre-defined high-risk geographic regions, ensuring data is secure and compliant with regulations like ITAR
Monitoring mode for shared link restrictions: Soon, admins can test shared link restriction policies without enforcing them to ensure smoother deployment
New compliance capabilities: Box will be CPRA ready, helping our customers meet their compliance requirements (and we’re committed to staying on top of new regulations)
Admin Insights: Bringing you expanded visibility into your users, content, and threats
Box is defined by enterprise-grade security, compliance, and a strong privacy posture — which is especially important when your content is spread across teams and multiple apps.
Simplifying your IT stack
All the above collaboration, security, and compliance updates are exciting, but we get it — your users still have other tools they work with. That's why Box integrations are so important. Today, we have over 1,500+ integrations on top of Box’s scalable, global cloud infrastructure, and these include the tools you use every day. For one thing, with our Box for Microsoft integration, Microsoft Teams users will be able to collaborate on Box Notes directly from in Teams channels.
We’re also introducing a few key integration enhancements:
Box for Salesforce: The additions of Box Sign, easy install wizard, and custom folder mapping open up a myriad of use cases
Box for Slack: Get Box notifications through Slack for a seamless experience, and leverage Box channel folder mapping, instant permissions, and editable shared links for faster collaboration
Box for Google: Box file links are now available in Google Calendar meetings, plus Box Notes can be used as Google meeting notes
In our developer community — which currently includes over 150K developer accounts, with an average of nearly two million application users accessing custom applications every single month — we have a few exciting things to share. We’ll be rolling out a brand new developer community site in early June - for developers to connect with one another, as well as engage directly with the Box developer relations team. We also recently added the Box Sample Code Catalog, a place for developers to find all the sample code they need in one place, filterable by use cases and programming language. Announced and live back in February, the Sample Code Catalog has quickly become a developer favorite on our site.
There’s more coming for developers later this year as well, including the ability to embed the Box Sign experience directly into your custom apps.
