We're excited to announce that the Box Impact Fund is back for its fifth year, offering $150,000 in grants to nonprofits ready to accelerate their digital transformation journeys. Six nonprofits will each receive $25,000 grants to pursue innovative digital projects that help progress their mission-driven work.
Applications are open, starting on September 11th, for organizations working in child welfare, crisis response, and environmental protection. Whether your organization is looking to streamline field operations, enhance data collection and analysis, or build groundbreaking applications, we want to support your vision. And as generative AI reshapes how we work, we see tremendous opportunity for resource-constrained nonprofits to leverage these tools to serve more people more effectively.
Last year's cohort demonstrates the transformative potential of strategic technology investments. These organizations include:
- The Children’s Cabinet
- Developmental and Peace Foundation
- Foster Nation
- The Jane Goodall Institute
- Out in Tech
- Ushahidi
As we kick off this year’s Box Impact Fund, we welcome applications from nonprofits and charities worldwide that focus on the areas of child welfare, crisis response, or environmental protection. In particular, we support organizations that have a vision for how technological innovations can advance their missions, and we’re excited to help make that vision a reality.
We're especially eager to see proposals that thoughtfully integrate AI to enhance productivity and extend reach. In an era where technology evolves daily, nonprofits that partner with technology organizations stand to make the strongest impact. These are the organizations that view digital transformation not as an IT project, but as a strategic imperative. They understand that the right tools don't replace human connection — they amplify it.
For a great example, one Box Impact Fund grantee, the Jane Goodall Institute, works to transform communities and ecosystems, empowering youth-led conservation efforts across multiple continents. The funds’s innovative approach combines on-the-ground restoration with cutting-edge mapping technology to create lasting environmental change.
By partnering with organizations like Ecosia, TREEAMS, Tree People, and Esri, The Jane Goodall Institute has built a collaborative network that strengthens data tracking, improves coordination, and ensures its conservation model can scale globally. The Jane Goodall Institute’s commitment to listening to youth feedback and continuously improving its tools demonstrates how technology and grassroots action can work together to protect our planet's future.
It’s this level of impact that inspires us to empower projects via the annual Box Impact Fund.
Over the past four years, the Box Impact Fund has supported more than 20 remarkable organizations pursuing digital innovation. Their success stories inspire us and reinforce our belief that when purpose-driven organizations have access to the right resources and technology, there's no limit to the change they can create.
Applications for the 2025-2026 Box Impact Fund are open from September 11 through November 10, 2025.We invite you to think boldly about how technology can help you serve more people, work more efficiently, and create lasting change in your community.
