The annual Box Diversity Scholarship is back!
We're excited to announce that we're now accepting applications for the Box Diversity Scholarship to kick-off the new school year!
At Box, we believe diversity and inclusion are critical to our success and this scholarship is one of the ways we're expanding access to our industry. The Box Diversity Scholarship was created to amplify the perspectives of people from historically underrepresented groups to be successful in the field of technology as we change the way the world works together.
The Awards and Qualifications
Same as last year, Box will award five scholarships to undergraduate students with a passion for technology.
- One student will be awarded a $20,000 grand-prize
- The four other finalists will be awarded $4,000 each
Unlike last year, however, we're seeking applications beyond computer science and engineering students to include any "STEAM" (science, technology, engineering, arts such as graphic design and visual arts, and math) majors as well. Our primary aim is to support individuals who have a strong passion for technology, show exceptional creativity and drive, and demonstrate strong leadership and care for their community.
We're primarily seeking applicants from historically underrepresented groups, including those who identify as people of color, women, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities.
Qualified candidates must also be enrolled in or transferring into a 4-year accredited degree program by Spring 2018. This includes rising college freshman beginning college in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018, exiting college seniors graduating in/after Spring 2018, and community college students who are transferring to a 4-year school by Spring 2018. All applicants must commit to being in the US and able to travel to Box Headquarters in Redwood City, California for finalist interviews from December 7 to 8, 2017.
