The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service’s mission is vital to preserve and protect the beautiful landscape and natural resources of our country. Today, we’re thrilled to share that the USDA Forest Service selected Box to power the organization’s enterprise cloud content management and modernize their content applications to support thousands of agency employees.
The USDA Forest Service sustains the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation’s forests and grasslands to meet the needs of current and future generations. According to the agency, these forests and grasslands add more than $30 billion to the American economy annually and support nearly 360,000 jobs. The agency protects and manages approximately 193 million acres of national forest land, which spans 600 ranger districts, 155 national forests and 20 grasslands across 44 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. To advance its mission, the organization partners with state and private landowners, practices world-renowned forestry research and manages wildland fire organizations.
The agency is a leading example of how the public sector can modernize IT infrastructure and leverage digital workplace applications to power secure collaboration and real-time access to information. We are proud to work with the USDA Forest Service who ensures our nation’s forests and grasslands are enjoyed for future generations.
