Surface content faster with new AI tools in Box Hubs
We’re excited to announce that Box Hubs — now with a full lineup of time-saving enhancements — is generally available to all Enterprise accounts.
Box Hubs are customizable, intelligent content portals that make it easier to curate, publish, and consume your most important content. As a simple way to organize your source-of-truth content, Hubs streamline how you share content across project teams, the entire company, and external collaborators.
From small businesses to large corporations, organizations of all sizes can now create Hubs and empower teams to be more productive and collaborative. These key benefits will help you drive faster, more effective collaboration:
- Curate and publish content in centralized “content playlists”
- Easily find and securely access pre-curated information
- Create Hubs quickly and customize with contextual imagery and icons
- Leverage the latest AI models to amplify the value of the content in your Hubs*
The best part? All of this can be accomplished without the need for additional coding, IT, or admin help, saving your organization the headache of managing the risks, costs, and complexity typically associated with introducing new apps or multiple technology solutions. Your people get the flexibility and freedom to create Hubs themselves, with customizable header images, icons, and layouts. Plus, it all happens in one secure, organized location — the Intelligent Content Cloud.
Mike Jordan, manager of the collaboration tools support team at Exact Sciences, said employees stay better connected with Box Hubs. “At Exact Sciences, we are focused on transforming how we connect people with the information they need, Box Hubs allows our employees to access portals so they can easily find information relevant to their jobs and projects, while leveraging Box permissions to ensure Hubs owners maintain control over access to content," Jordan said. "And Box AI will be a game changer for our users enabling employees to summarize long documents, surface important nuggets of information buried within them, and even comb through multiple folders at once to quickly find the information they need. The combination of Hubs with AI will help to drive our organization into a new era of more efficient collaboration."
External collaboration now available with Box Hubs
You can now invite people outside of your organization to Hubs — which is great when you need to share curated content with agencies, vendors, and other external partners. We’ve already seen people use Hubs to share brand assets, onboard new vendors, and create project workspaces, for instance.
Find Hubs files in your global search experience
Files that have been shared with you through a Hub can now be found through your global search experience (all files search), integrating Hubs into your overall Box experience in a more seamless manner. And, with our updated search experience, it will be easier than ever for users to find and filter for the files and folders they need.
Keep your Hubs secure with Hubs settings
Working in line with your existing enterprise or folder settings, Hubs settings can help you manage user access to edit, view, and share Hubs content, and give you additional peace of mind that only the right people will have access to your files. Hubs settings includes options such as:
- Restricting the ability to add collaborators and create shared links to co-owners only
- Restricting collaboration to users within an enterprise
- Disabling Box AI within a particular Hub, while keeping Box AI available for the rest of your enterprise
Box AI for Hubs enhancements
Box AI for Hubs is also now generally available to our Enterprise Plus customers. Not only can it answer queries across multiple documents, it can also deliver information in specific formats, such as a table or bulleted list. This new, enhanced formatting support provides organized and structured responses that are more readable and easier to understand. And, it is great for use cases like building a grid with competitor information or identifying step-by-step processes to follow for an IT procedure.
Box AI for Hubs has also improved accuracy and transparency in citations by helping users understand how answers are sourced. With many more updates on the horizon, Box AI for Hubs continues to build out a repertoire of capabilities to help you find answers quickly and accurately.
Customer use cases
Since our beta announcement, Hubs use cases have expanded across even more industries and departments. Here are a few examples of how those use cases show up:
- A professional services firm can organize company-wide information and guidelines in a single Hub for employees to access and query
- A financial services company can create a Hub as an internal workspace to house and share relevant documents for each project
- A hospitality business can organize digital assets for different venues and events into a one easy portal
- A municipality organization can store IT information in a Hub and ask questions with Box AI about content within the Hub
As many of our beta customers have noted, Hubs is helping them save time and effort by getting the right content to the right people at the right time. And this has an added benefit to their end users, too: giving people back time to be strategic and focus on solving important problems, rather than spending time sifting through pages of documents.
