With the current macroeconomic headwinds, organizations of all sizes across all industries are looking to reduce costs while simultaneously getting the most out of their investments with their existing technology stack. E-signature solutions tend to be a focal point for reducing costs, which shouldn’t come as a surprise when you consider the fact that most e-signature providers offer a point solution that addresses a single component of a broader business process.
Box is here to help! Since the launch of Box Sign, thousands of Box customers are taking advantage of unlimited e-signatures included in their plans and have migrated use cases over from costly incumbents. Box is keeping the momentum rolling with new e-signature features, as well as security and workflow integrations that enable you to reduce costs and complexity, empowering you to automate your entire workflows while staying secure throughout.
We are excited to announce:
- New radio button, dropdown menu and signer attachment fields in Box Sign to unlock new use cases, deliver a more seamless sender and signer experience, and collect additional documentation.
- Keyboard shortcuts and commands to streamline the document preparation process when creating signature requests or saving templates.
- Enhancements to dynamic naming support in Box Relay to enable users to contextually name files and folders based on certain workflow variables, including metadata fields and trigger folders.
- A dedicated Box Sign policy for Box Shield to provide users with the ability to seamlessly request signatures on documents subject to Box Shield's access policies.

Radio buttons, dropdown menus, and signer attachment fields
The benefits of Box Sign extend beyond the cost savings associated with e-signatures. Exceptional digital experiences are the standard for getting work done, and the introduction of radio buttons, dropdown menus, and the ability to request additional documentation from signers within Box Sign enables senders to extend those experiences to their signers.
These new fields eliminate manual data entry errors, reduce the time required to complete business processes, and provide a more efficient signing experience for signers and senders. Learn more about the different fields within Box Sign here.
Keyboard shortcuts and commands for document preparation
It’s no secret that e-signatures are far more convenient and efficient than traditional pen-and-paper signatures. However, sending documents for signature still requires the ability to drag, drop, position and resize fields within documents, which can be time-consuming especially for signature requests that contain multiple documents. The introduction of keyboard shortcuts and commands accelerates the document preparation process by allowing senders to easily cut, copy, paste, duplicate, delete, redo, and undo fields - dramatically reducing document preparation times. Dynamic naming enhancements with Box Relay
Box Relay helps customers automate content-centric business processes on Box, with the Sign-Relay integration specifically enabling post-signature actions to be orchestrated. The recently added ability to name files and folders on-the-fly by combining free-from text with workflow variables such as metadata, dates, trigger file/folder name etc. enable users to customize workflows for better content organization and faster task completion. This enables our customers to build end-to-end e-signature workflows — from authoring and collaborating on the agreement, to getting it signed by internal and external parties, to downstream actions such as notifications, classification and archival. Dedicated Box Sign policy for Box Shield
At Box, enterprise-grade security is paramount to everything we do. By integrating these two products in a more frictionless way, admins no longer have to choose between restricting access and sharing sensitive content and taking advantage of the flexibility and power of Box Sign. We have added a new ‘Box Sign Request Restriction’ control type that you can add to access policies. Applying the restriction to a specific policy means that you restrict initiating Box Sign requests. For example, if a Box admin enables a sign request restriction for content classified as Internal Only, users cannot request signatures for internal only files. You can learn more about this Box Sign Request Restriction here.
These new features and enhancements in Box Shield, Box Sign, and Box Relay illustrate Box’s commitment to providing seamless experiences — enabling you to cut costs and complexity with secure e-signature workflows using Intelligent Content Management.
