Introducing the new mobile SDK for iOS
Today we're excited to announce the general availability of our brand new mobile SDK for iOS following our Beta release earlier this year.
Enterprises are modernizing how they collaborate on business processes in a mobile first world and iOS continues to be the most widely used mobile platform in business. The new mobile SDK for iOS allows development teams to seamlessly integrate the Box Platform into mobile applications, greatly simplifying how content is managed across systems and applications as part of their business processes. By building with our SDK, enterprises are now able to take advantage of a number of new mobile development capabilities.

To simplify development on iOS, the SDK has been written from the ground up in Apple’s new iOS language, Swift, and will be available via popular package managers such as Cocoapods, Carthage and Swift Package Manager. Additional resources include fully documented code samples and reference apps to accelerate time to market.
Development teams can now also take advantage of Box's secure content experiences for common document and image formats within Apple’s native iOS file viewer to power content centric business processes across financial services, healthcare, education, and more.
Finally to improve application performance against the backdrop of mobile network latencies, development teams can now take advantage of network optimization to ensure that business critical processes can run un-interrupted on mobile devices.
We’re excited about the possibilities of what customers build on the Box Platform with our new mobile SDK for iOS.
