The Full Circle Fund community had a truly impactful evening at Box on November 28th where we hosted their very first Silicon Valley Idea Lab! This non-technical hackathon took a cue from their SF Idea Lab, which is one of their most popular annual events.
We were excited to host Full Circle Fund, which is supported by the Box.org Fund. It has been our pleasure to help them drive Box.org's work as a convener, connector & catalyst helping change-makers build a better & more equitable Bay Area. Through this partnership three Boxers have joined Full Circle Fund as Members and helped to host this non-technical hackathon event.
At Idea Lab SV, participants collaborated for a 90-minute session to help generate innovative solutions for 5 selected Nonprofit Partners. It was an exciting time for Full Circle Fund Members and guest thought partners to contribute their time and talent to a local organization and make a difference in just one night!
Participants heard from the night’s 5 Nonprofit Partners about a challenge or opportunity they have, and then they selected a “working session” to participate in for the evening. At the conclusion of the event, everyone heard demo-style wrap-ups from each ideation working group.
Our Nonprofit Partners shared enthusiastic feedback about the event: “I was completely appreciative of the constructive and caring feedback I received from a diverse group of volunteers. Honestly, I was most impressed by the diversity of my group.”
Another nonprofit shared about their experience: “The opportunity to bring together so many different perspectives and brainstorm solutions that we would not have thought of individually was what we liked most about the event.”
