BoxWorks19 Social Impact recap

Box welcomed over 4000 members of our community to BoxWorks19 at the beginning of October. It was an inspiring, energizing and educational event for everyone involved!  Box and Box.org leadership are also excited to report that the event drove significant digital and general capacity gains for nonprofits which will enable lots of positive social impact.

It was special catching up with so many friends and colleagues during two informative and fun-filled days at Moscone Center in San Francisco. We at Box.org were especially excited to fully scholarship and greet over 450 nonprofit / social impact leaders who learned from over 30 of their peer experts in the Social Impact Clubhouse this year.

We were also excited to enable hundreds of BoxWorks attendees and employees to make over 450 donations totaling almost $95K to NetHope during the two-day event.  Partners or the CEO’s at Okta, PagerDuty, Zoom and Slack donated $40K, Box.org donated 35K and Boxers/BoxWorks attendees donated the remaining 20K!  The funds will help the NetHope Center for the Digital Nonprofit complete an IDEA design thinking session with their member Path and bolster their capacity to educate consulting companies who want to optimize how they work with NGO’s.

  • 30 nonprofits joined the Box Certified Professional training October 2nd
  • 10 nonprofit IT executive leaders joined the CIOWorks track
  • 15 nonprofit executives joined a pre-keynote VIP Breakfast
  • 110 guests joined us for an #ImpactCloud Happy Hour near Moscone
  • 20 nonprofits pursued Executive Innovation Center sessions with Box leaders
  • Hundreds of BoxWorks attendees visited NetHope and Path in the partner pavilion

We’re proud and humbled that so many nonprofit / social impact leaders could join us this year.  Here’s a word cloud related to these awesome and inspiring leaders.
