Box Poland moves into new offices in the EU's highest building
We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new state-of-the-art R&D offices in Varso Tower, Warsaw! Since our Box debut in Poland in 2020, we’ve hired more than 300 Boxers in the region, with an emphasis on technical roles. As we grow, scale and begin a new chapter in Poland, we’re excited to now occupy ten floors of the Varso Tower, the EU’s highest building.
During the first phase of office build-out in Varso Tower, we've developed five of the 10 floors for Box use. We plan to sublet the unoccupied floors for the short-term, allowing room for growth as we continue to expand and hire in Poland over the next several years. With the shift to hybrid work, we’re continuing to rethink what our employees need from offices to do their best work, and will build out the remaining five floors accordingly.
To date, our teams in Poland represent over 30 percent of critical engineering roles across Box’s global engineering teams, covering most of Box’s product areas. They’re central to Box’s product roadmap, critical engineering activities and overall strategic growth. We’ll continue to hire exceptional and diverse engineering talent going forward, as well as in other key Box areas like design, information security, finance, and people operations.
Our new Warsaw office space represents a celebration of the unique history and culture of Poland. By working with local artists, photographers, furniture suppliers, designers, and architects, including Warsaw-based R&D Studio, we’ve created an office space that embraces Poland’s rich cultural heritage. For example, electric neon hands designed by ADVERTIS pay homage to Poland’s electro-graphic art era. Check out the photos, below!
Our stunning, new offices are designed to give our Boxers choice over where and how they work, enabling individual working styles. Teams are empowered to do their best work through the purpose-built working environments that support flexible working, all while bringing the comforts of the home to the office. With open space collaboration zones, huddle rooms, swanky social spaces, bars and gaming lounges, we’re delighted that Boxers can work and relax, enjoying stunning views of Warsaw throughout.
Box was named by Fortune as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, and our benefits philosophy aims to enable our Boxers to live their healthiest lives. Some of our employee and culture benefits include:
● Hybrid work models, giving Boxers the option of flexible, virtual, and office-based work environments;
● Equity awards and employee stock purchase plan;
● Family planning benefits including fertility, adoption and surrogacy, pre- and post-natal support;
● Mental health guidance and support, including therapy and coaching sessions;
● Weekly team office breakfasts and social activities arranged by Box employee-led communities;
● Complimentary office lunch and snacks.
As Jakub Wincewicz, our ‘Chief Fun Officer’ in Warsaw puts it: “At Box, we foster an environment for employees to bring their authentic selves to work, assume good intent, and show deep respect for one another. In addition to my role as a Site Reliability Engineer, I serve voluntarily as a CFO or ‘Chief Fun Officer’. It involves bringing colleagues together on a regular basis for socials and activities. Our Poland Boxers are proactively involved in numerous community initiatives and fundraise for charities such as such as Szlachetna Paczka or Fundacja po DRUGIE.”
Since Box first launched in Europe in 2012, we’ve established a strong European footprint with offices in London, Paris, Munich, Amsterdam and Warsaw. We can’t wait to continue to continue our strong rate of growth in Poland and hire new talent to experience our amazing new office space at Varso Tower!
