The Box Impact Fund is back, for greater impact than ever before

Box Impact Fund

At Box our mission is to power how the world works together. And this extends to our work through Box.org as we strive to make an impact in our global communities, utilizing our unique strengths and leveraging our product, people (enthusiastic Boxers!), philanthropy, and an immense amount of passion. We’re energized to continue enabling organizations to work more efficiently out in the field, save time collaborating with their teams, and protect their sensitive PII data, as they work to achieve their critical missions.

One of our most significant commitments to the nonprofit sector is our Box Impact Fund, and we’re thrilled to be announcing the second year of this grant program at BoxWorks. Our Box Impact Fund provides digital transformation grants globally in three Box.org focus areas: child welfare, crisis response, and environment.

We are pleased to share some updates to the Fund for this year:

  • Increased funding of $150K, providing more investment for digital transformation projects
  • An added focus area of environment to fund projects protecting our planet
  • Six grants available, each in the amount of $25K

Last year we had hundreds of applications to the program from over 40 countries, all focused on creating change, and improving communities. We ultimately selected four inspiring, impactful organizations as our grant recipients:

These organizations utilized the grant funding for various transformative projects that advance their technology for greater impact. USDR, a nonprofit that delivers critical services and infrastructure in crisis situations, grew their Rapid Response team to bring tech resources to those in need. ACCESS started a monitoring system for child welfare interventions, securing data to help them address challenges in the field and improve the livelihoods of orphans in rural areas. Children’s Home Society of Minnesota was able to digitize thousands of adoption records and can now access important files for foster youth more quickly. And finally, Water Mission, an organization focused on safe water solutions in developing countries and disaster areas, helped move traditional paper-based processes to a fully digitized cloud based operation in one of their regions, which means critical resources are accessed faster in impacted communities.

We look forward to funding additional nonprofits this year on their digital transformation journeys, so more time can be spent on what these inspiring organizations do best — delivering on their missions. If you’re a nonprofit focused in child welfare, crisis response or environment, please apply! Or if you know a nonprofit that could benefit from additional investment, please share this news with them.
