Where to find Higher Education peers at #BoxWorks

With hundreds of the world's leading colleges and universities deploying Box, this year a record number of higher education community members will be attending Boxworks. There's a packed agenda full of incredible announcements, updates, and stories from customers and partners but I wanted to highlight some sessions and activities specifically relevant to higher education:

Tuesday October 10

Higher Education's Experiences with Box: Campus "Lightning Talks"; 7:10-7:30pm
Hundreds of the world's leading colleges and universities have standardized on Box across their campuses, deploying accounts to all their students, faculty, and staff. Come hear from several of Box's leading higher education customers in a series of "lightning talks" about how higher education is being transformed with cloud content management.

Wednesday October 11

Maintaining Compliance in the Cloud; 12:45-1:45pm
HIPAA, FINRA, FISMA, FERPA -- is your organization subject to an alphabet soup of regulatory requirements? Come to this session to learn directly from other Box customers how they use Box to help maintain regulatory compliance in their industry.

Deploying Departmental Folders in Box: Best Practices from Higher Education; 5:10-5:30pm
For colleges and universities deploying Box, along with customers across numerous other industries, departments or organizational units are accustomed to owning their own servers or having a network share owned by the department. Successfully implementing Box in distributed environments, as well as ensuring organizational ownership of data, often requires establishing departmental folders and facilitating migration of the content silo'd in legacy systems. This session features technical and consulting experts from Box who will describe key considerations and best practices for deploying departmental folders, as well as the perspective from one of Box's largest deployments, Indiana University.

Higher Education Happy Hour; 5:30-9pm
Come meet your peers and colleagues from the higher education community as well as the Box team working with colleges and universities! Location info and specifics will be shared with higher ed attendees, if you need info or are interested in attending, please email [email protected]

Thursday October 12

Building a Learning Management System with Box Platform; 11:30-12:30pm
Today employees are embracing technology, therefore learning at an accelerated rate and are looking for workplace technology that can keep up. Learning Management Solutions with poor user experience and outdated technology are a thing of the past, as today’s enterprises are looking for smarter and more sophisticated ways to educate their workforce. In this session, Revunit will walk you through their recent LMS that they've built that is currently serving 200K employees, 150+ locations, and 150 terabytes of data stored.

At BoxWorks 2017, we're gathering industry leaders, visionaries and technologists to draw a new Blueprint for the Future of Work. I encourage the higher education community members to attend sessions that will show you how to efficiently and effectively manage, govern and process your content so you can optimize its impact on your campuses and beyond. For Boxworks attendees representing other industries, I hope you will find value in hearing what our college and university customers are doing with Box and how they are transforming research, teaching, and scholarship with cloud content management.

Please reach out via [email protected] if you are interested in speaking with any higher ed community members attending or would like more information on the higher ed events at Boxworks!
