Welcoming Box's new CIO, Paul Chapman

Today I’m pleased to announce that Paul Chapman is Box's new CIO. Paul joins us from HP, where as CIO of HP Software he was responsible for developing IT solutions and defining the HP global information management strategy. Prior to HP, he served as Vice President, Global Infrastructure and Cloud Operations and Vice President of Enterprise Applications at VMware, where he drove the move to cloud services. He brings decades of IT industry experience to Box, and we’re thrilled to have him join the team.

At Box, we've always believed that cloud and mobile technologies deliver maximum productivity and leverage for our workforce, which now totals 1,200 employees worldwide.Paul Chapman, new CIO of Box Because the majority of our IT infrastructure and applications are in the cloud — including Workday, Zuora, Okta, Salesforce.com, Zendesk, Netsuite and, of course, Box — our IT organization is free to focus on connecting these best-of-breed solutions, creating a more agile and productive workforce, and solving core problems to differentiate our business.

We believe the future of IT is about enabling user-centric services and applications that empower employees to do their best work. IT should be a force-multiplier of productivity and business success, and it's our job at Box to be at the forefront of this trend, both in how we deliver technology to our employees and partners, as well as power it for customers.

In the last few years, we've brought on many of the world's most respected enterprises as customers, including GE, AstraZeneca, Toyota, KKR and the U.S. Department of Justice. But this is just the beginning. We're building a platform that enables enterprises across industries to become more digital, and as one of the most senior IT leaders at HP and VMware, Paul knows a thing or two about how to drive this transformation. He'll play a critical role as a resource for customers who are looking to transform their business by moving their applications to the cloud.

Welcome Paul!
