The company invented PDFs more than two decades ago so that any paper document could easily be digitized - whether it's a legal contract, customer presentation, partner agreement or marketing brochure. This was an important step towards helping people work in digital environments and since then Adobe's continued to deliver innovations that help people move away from paper based processes. Meanwhile, at Box, we have a sharp focus on making digital content accessible, collaborative and secure so that businesses can reap the full benefits of working in the cloud.
That's why connecting Adobe's industry-standard products with our powerful content management and collaboration platform is a natural fit that will deliver huge value to businesses. With more than two billion PDFs in Box today, businesses already see the value in using our services in tandem. Today, we're introducing three seamless new ways that businesses can take advantage of Box and Adobe Document Cloud together:
Sign Documents in Box with Adobe Sign: Now users will be able to review documents in Box and route them for electronic signatures in Adobe Sign. With content management and collaboration from Box, people can easily manage revisions, secure signatures, track approvals and distribute the final version of any form or contract. This can be done all in the cloud and without ever leaving the browser, making the process more secure and streamlined than ever. Available soon, the new integration between Box and Adobe Sign will eliminate the need to ever download, print and scan documents that require signature, use email to share the latest versions, or manually circulate documents between multiple parties for signature or approval.
Access and Edit PDFs from Box: With a new integration between Box and Acrobat DC, people will be able to make edits to PDFs in Box without downloading them to the desktop, and ensure all changes are automatically saved back to Box. Whether working with project plans, budget proposals or sales presentations, Box ensures that everyone's always accessing the most up-to-date versions. Available later this year, this new integration with Acrobat DC will tap Box's robust collaboration features, such as commenting, task-management, workflow automation and real-time alerts, to make working with PDFs an even more effortless experience.
Set Box as your Default Cloud Service in Adobe: When working from a computer or an iOS device, users will now be able to have all of their work automatically saved to Box, whether creating a new project or editing an existing one. Using Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader on the desktop, iPhone or iPad, you can choose Box as your default cloud service, ensuring that all of your most valuable content is centralized and secured on Box. Available next month, the new integration from Adobe adds a new layer of security to PDFs by benefiting from world-class security and control from Box, including features like granular permissions, watermarking, password protected content and access stats.
