At BoxWorks last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook talked about mobile in the enterprise and said, "there's no doubt in my mind the best companies will be the most mobile." At Box we couldn't agree more. With so many Box customers working from our iPad and iPhone application - including General Electric, Toyota and Splunk - it's critical that we deliver the best iOS experience possible.
Today, we're excited to announce a new set of features available for our Box for iOS application, aimed at making it even easier to work and collaborate from anywhere. Box for iOS 3.7.5 takes advantage of the new features available in iOS 9 and builds upon existing functionality within our app. For businesses like Eli Lilly, which has 15,000 global sales reps using Box on iPads, these updates will dramatically enhance workforce productivity, collaboration and efficiency on the go.
With the latest version of our iOS app, you can:
Multitask from your iPad - For the first time, users can run Box alongside other applications on the iPad, making work faster and more efficient. Whether it's editing a PowerPoint presentation in Box so that it matches a project plan, or drafting an email based on recent updates to a Box Note, multitasking is a feature that will be useful everyday for our customers using iPads.
Search for content without opening an app - We've taken advantage of Apple's new Spotlight Search capability to make it even easier and faster for users to find exactly what they're looking for in Box - without even opening the app. Anytime you search for a keyword or phrase, in addition to pulling up results from the phone, you will be able to view relevant files from Box.
Work Faster with 3D touch - You can now quickly access the most used actions directly from the home screen with 3D Touch, a new iOS feature on iPhone 6S and 6S Plus phones that uses touch pressure to determine action. Before opening the app, you can directly open favorites, search for content, create a new Box Note and take photos with one touch of the app.
Leave annotations on Box Notes from anywhere - Annotations are one of our most popular features within the Box Notes web application as they make it easy to leave specific feedback on a portion of text. With our latest updates, users will be able to view existing annotations from our iOS application and also create new annotations for colleagues or external parties.
As Box continues to develop world-class mobile experiences, security remains a top priority. With Box for EMM, we integrate with leading security companies including Airwatch by VMware, MaasMaaS360 by IBM's Fiberlink, MobileIron and Dell to protect content on mobile devices. In fact, just this week Box announced that it was one of the first companies in the world to build an integration with Microsoft Intune.
Download the Box for iOS app today and stay tuned for more ways that Box makes it easy to work from anywhere.
