View API Update

Change to Sessions

We have an upcoming change that may affect your app but should not require a code change.

We just reimplemented the underlying architecture for sessions – this will enable sessions to be significantly more scalable and secure from our end. However, as a result of this change, any session created before we push the change will be invalidated after the change is pushed. You’ll therefore need to recreate any sessions that were expected to be valid beyond that time.

We are planning to push the change on this upcoming Monday, 11/18. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we continue to work through the beta. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.

Upcoming View API Hangout

Our next View API hangout is scheduled for next Wednesday 11/20. In case you haven't attended one yet, View API hangouts are your opportunity to give feedback directly to our product and engineering team and ask any questions you may have about what we're working on. Click here to sign up for the Hangout.

New Interactive Quickstart

We want to make getting started with the View API as easy as possible. We're working on putting together an easy-to-use, interactive quickstart that will take you from zero to converted document in just a minute or two. We have an early version of it available here. Please try it out, and let us know if you have any feedback.

Features Coming Soon

We're currently hard at work on xls(x) support, thumbnails, and a special endpoint that viewer.js can load from directly. If you have any specific requests or feedback about those features, or anything else, please let us know.
