and DocuSign: Getting Business Done in the Cloud

With Box, sharing files with a partner or customer on the other side of the world is as easy as sharing them with a neighboring colleague. We think that's pretty powerful. And now you can close deals and get contracts signed just as simply, thanks to our OpenBox partnership with e-signature provider DocuSign.

Let's say you're working on a big deal and want to send the contract to be e-signed by your partners straight from your Box account. To get started, just add the DocuSign OpenBox action to your Box account, right click on the file, and enter your DocuSign login credentials when prompted. You'll be taken to DocuSign, where you can review the contract, add appropriate recipients, and send it along to be signed. DocuSign will keep you updated on the status of all documents sent out for signature. It's that easy.

We see this integration as a natural, powerful extension of the Box platform, and we were honored when DocuSign invited us to talk about our partnership at yesterday's ESIGN Summit in San Francisco. The event was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the ESIGN Act, and also took a broader look at how cloud computing is transforming the way business is done. Bill Clinton, who signed the ESIGN Act into law ten years ago, joined us via satellite to share his thoughts on the evolution of information technology and its role in revitalizing the global economy. Box co-founder and CEO, Aaron Levie, explained how the changing demands of today’s worker, workplace and IT are driving adoption of cloud services.

Thanks to DocuSign for inviting us to the event, and we’re excited to count them as our latest OpenBox partner. 2010 has been a busy year, with integrations with Google Apps, SAP StreamWork, NetSuite, SugarCRM and others, and we’ll continue to connect Box to the business applications that matter most to your business. What would you like to see next?
