The need to securely share your files quickly and easily while knowing what’s going on with your business is extremely important. That’s why we’re excited to announce the updated Box for DocuSign integration today. Now when you’re working within DocuSign, you can select documents from Box you want to sign or send for signature and prepare it in just a few clicks. Completed documents automatically save back to Box and can be accessed from anywhere, on any device.

With today’s update to Box for DocuSign, you have the flexibility to start from whatever application you’re in: Box, DocuSign, or from your iPhone, Android or other mobile device. No matter where you start, with a few clicks you can easily select the recipients you need to sign a document, tag the document, and send it for signature. Once the document is fully executed, a copy is automatically stored in Box so you always have the most up to date version at your fingertips.

Box for DocuSign is a popular integration here at Box and is used throughout the company. When we sign up a new customer, our sales rep will send the contract to be signed in DocuSign. The customer returns the signed contract and it’s automatically saved back to Box. Our business development team uses Box for DocuSign to red-line or edit contract drafts, and then collect signatures on executed copies. Even our people ops team uses Box for DocuSign to extend offer letters to candidates, as well as prepare internal stock grants for employees to sign and return.

With Box for DocuSign, your team can be more productive regardless of where you are or what device you’re using. How will your team use Box for DocuSign?

As more people—and more businesses—choose Windows phones and tablets, we continue to invest in our Box for Windows apps to give users more access to content and businesses more control and security.

In fact, interest in Microsoft’s latest platforms has led to more than half a million downloads of our Box for Windows 8 and Box for Windows Phone apps since launch. We have met this demand by recently releasing some amazing features that let you do more with Box on your Windows devices. And today, we’re adding even more features to give users and businesses better control and enhanced security over their content.

Let’s take a look at what you can do on your Windows Phones and Windows 8 PCs now.

Box for Windows already gives you easy access to your content, with the ability to preview over 75 types of documents—including complex ones like Photoshop or AutoCAD files! It’s also designed around the unique features of the Windows platform, making use of live tiles, semantic zoom, and charms on Windows 8.

Today’s updates will also give you more control over the content in your account. Now, you can add, remove, and change access permissions for any collaborator in any folder that you own. This is great if you’re away from your desk and need to quickly change how someone sees your content or if you want to share something that you just uploaded from your phone.

We’re also extending some of our enterprise security and device management features to these Windows devices. First, we’ve added two-step login verification, which users or admins can enable to keep accounts safe. With this feature, a one-time code is sent to the user’s mobile phone, which they will use in addition to their password to login to Box.

Next, admins can tailor Box access to their specific IT policies. For example, you can require an application-specific passcode lock and set a custom timeout for the lock. To prevent data leaks, admins can also restrict the ability to download files locally to the devices. All of these new features are in addition to the device pinning and remote logout capabilities we already offer.

Finally, we’re offering more access today for the Swedes and Finns, with two new localizations in Swedish and Finnish!

Go download the free Box for Windows 8 or Windows Phone app today— and try out the security settings for yourself! We’re always open to your feedback @BoxHQ or via windows-support@box.com.

Our customers have given us a deep understanding of how to create a wildly successful Box deployment. We measure user adoption, internal collaboration, mobility and customer engagement. Our goal is to help companies get the most out of Box and provide them with simple, elegant tools to keep them successful as they grow. Our customer success team and success.box.com is just one way we do this.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce another great tool to help admins cut through complexity and find opportunities to improve their use of Box. We’re expanding our partnership with GoodData and today they’re releasing GoodBox Bash, a cloud-based service that lets customers view and analyze key data about how their business is using Box. Available immediately from GoodData, GoodBox gives instant insights into the security of content stored in Box, how different teams adopt and collaborate in Box and where opportunities exist to do more with content.

The first thing that the GoodBox Bash gives businesses is truly customizable alerting and monitoring. No matter how big you are — if you have a few hundred employees or a few hundred thousand — it’s critical to get a view over all your critical corporate data. With GoodBox, you can watch Box activity and use the rich visualizations to spot identify any abnormal behavior. Whether you’re looking for suspicious download activity or want to track previews and shared links to specific document sets, GoodBox gives you better visibility and better control over your content.

We also want our customers to squeeze every bit of value they can out of Box. The second thing GoodBox exposes is how different teams in your organization are adopting, engaging with and collaborating in Box. Pay attention to how your top-performing teams use Box, identify best practices and great new use cases, and then spread that knowledge to other teams. You can even tie content and events to broader business metrics to see how your content is influencing revenue, close rates and cost management.

For more information, check out the details on GoodData’s page or contact your Box rep for a demo!

The consumerization of IT and evolution of the cloud are shaking up the healthcare industry. With four out of five doctors using mobile devices for work-related tasks, mHealth and BYOD are creating new challenges for CMIOs and CIOs at hospitals and large integrated delivery networks across the nation. And as if that weren’t enough, provider and patient frustrations continue to mount over the lack of interoperability and file sharing in healthcare.

Well hang tight! At Box, we’re shaking up healthcare, too – in all the right ways – helping providers, payers and patients address the major pain points in healthcare around the lack of interoperability and basic file sharing. Our secure cloud collaboration platform provides medical teams with anywhere access to health information, enables collaboration between physicians and nurses for improved care coordination, eliminates paper workflows, and optimizes IT investments in applications, infrastructure and maintenance.

Building on our industry momentum, today we announced that Box supports HIPAA/HITECH compliance – post the omnibus ruling – and that we’re signing Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with healthcare customers. This is significant, as it means that unlike consumer cloud applications, Box is a trusted healthcare partner for personal health information (PHI) such as medical records, images, lab reports and so on.

As part of our strategy to help tackle challenges around care coordination, clinical documentation and basic interoperability, we added 10 new healthcare application partners: Doximity, drchrono, HealthTap, iPaxera, MediCopy, iMedViewer, Medigram, PostureScreen Mobile, TigerText and Umbie Dental Care.

With the TigerText partnership, clients can securely and easily share patient info such as images, reports, lab reports, and any documents stored in Box to help coordinate care delivery. This collaboration addresses the BYOD and texting problems plaguing hospitals, while also improving patient care and hospital efficiency.

In addition, we announced a seed investment in drchrono, the first EHR company that we are working with in order to help physicians access images, lab reports and more from Box.

Finally, we announced a special offer with Doximity, the nation’s largest professional network for doctors. With Doximity, physicians can use their iPhone or Android device or desktop computer to quickly and securely connect with nearly any US physician to collaborate on patient care or find the right medical expert on a topic. Until the end of the year, Doximity’s 150,000+ members can get a free Box account with 50GB storage.

Hundreds of healthcare customers are already using Box, including Beaumont and Henry Ford Health Systems, Garden City Hospital, HealthTrust Europe, Johns Hopkins HealthCare Solutions and San Juan Regional Medical Center, just to name a few. Their use cases are powerful and varied – from medical teams being able to securely access PHI to health systems, payors, patients and third parties sharing files to better coordinate care.

Al Fadool, the CIO of Garden City Hospital, will be sharing his thoughts on the secure cloud for healthcare during a webinar at 10am PT on May 2. We’ll be joined by industry expert, Shahid Shah, A.K.A. “The Healthcare IT Guy” and Missy Krasner, former founding member of Google Health and Executive in Residence (EIR) at Morgenthaler Ventures. I’m excited to share that Missy’s working with Box as a strategic advisor for healthcare. Please join our conversation by registering here.

Box Edit is a must-have tool for anyone creating and editing files on Box. It lets you easily work with common file formats like Word docs, Photoshop images and AutoCAD files (plus many more!) from within Box, without needing to download a file to your computer, edit it offline, and then re-upload to your account.

The popular feature lets you open and edit files directly from Box in one click, then save your changes back to the cloud seamlessly. Better yet, with our latest release, you’ll be able to receive every new feature and update in the future automatically.

Need a quick review of everything you can do with Box Edit? We’ve got you covered.

Edit existing files and save changes to the cloud

With Box Edit, you can edit all the file types you already work with – like images, videos, spreadsheets, documents and more – without leaving Box.

To make changes while previewing a file, click the Edit button and the file will open in the native application associated with that file type. For example, if you want to edit a .doc file, it will open in Microsoft Word automatically. If you’re modifying a .psd file, you’re just a click away from working on it in Adobe Photoshop. If you can edit a file on your PC or Mac, you can edit it with Box.

Once you’re done, click Save within that app and your changes will be saved back to Box automatically. Your latest work goes straight to the cloud, no uploading required!

Create new Microsoft Office files on Box

The New menu option includes a quick way for you to create new Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint files without leaving Box. You’ll add a title and the new document will be launched automatically in the associated native application so you can get straight to work.

Use file locking for conflict-free collaboration

With file lock/unlock functionality, you can lock a document to prevent others from making conflicting changes while you’re editing. Just remember to unlock it when you’re finished so your team can continue collaborating as needed.

Install once, get future updates automatically

Whether you are new to Box Edit or a long time user, be sure to download the latest update available today. With this version, we’ve added an auto-update feature that means you’ll always be pushed new features as we roll them out automatically – no need to reinstall or update in the future!

Box makes editing easy, no matter where you’re working

Box Edit makes it easy to edit files when you’re working in Box on your Windows or Mac, but what if you’re on the go and working from your phone or tablet? Don’t worry, Box OneCloud is your new best friend! Available on iOS and Android, OneCloud lets you open files from Box in one of our 300 partner apps, edit and save back to your account easily! Check out more info on Box OneCloud to learn how to get started.

We hope you love using Box Edit as much as the team here at Box does! Remember to install the latest version today to boost your productivity on Box and get all future updates and new features automatically. Let us know what you think of this tool below or on Twitter @BoxHQ!

To truly grasp the transformation powered by mobile, and especially mobile in the enterprise, you have to live it. That means consuming the latest mobile technologies when they’re available. When it comes to devices, that means picking them up, testing them, and seeing how they feel. And when it comes to apps, that means taking the time to try them, and picking the best ones that will move the needle for your business, employees and customers.

That’s why we’re proud to announce today the opening of the Box OneCloud pavilion here at BoxHQ—it’s like our very own version of the Apple Genius Bar, but meant to showcase our best OneCloud partner apps, across a variety of categories: taking notes, showing presentations, e-signing, to name a few. It’s also a chance to get hands-on with some of the latest mobile hardware. Given that Box supports all major mobile platforms and that we have so many cool partners in the device space, the OneCloud pavilion has something for everyone: the latest iPads, a Windows Surface and the yet to be released, but waterproof Sony Xperia Z. Finally, and just because we could, it also has enough ambient lighting and optical flare to make J.J. Abrams swoon. Step inside, and it’s like you’re on the deck of the Starship Mobile Enterprise, ready to take your productivity to warp speed.

With so many thousands of business apps out there, across so many platforms, it’s tough to find the one that’s right for you. At the end of the day, finding the right app is a personal decision, deeply steeped in your organizational vision of what will work for you. As long as the apps are interoperable with the business content you truly care about, picking them shouldn’t be an exercise in assimilation. So that’s why we built the OneCloud pavilion. For our customers, it means we’ll help you find, try and deploy the best integrated apps that fit your needs. Apps that will truly let you do more, from anywhere. For our OneCloud partners, it means we’ll keep on helping you place your apps in the right hands. Better yet, we’ll have you come over so that you can demo them yourselves. Because we live it.

So next time you visit, drop by the OneCloud pavilion over here at Box HQ. We’ll take you boldly where no enterprise software company has taken you before.

Savvy business leaders know that securing new BYOD (“bring your own device”) programs means more than just locking down devices. Mobile apps are now under the scrutiny of security teams as potential sources of data leakage. The Box mobile apps already give you a ton of valuable security features, like device pinning, two-step login verification, the ability to set passcode locks and the choice to block saving content offline. But what if your company needs even more mobile management options?

That’s why Box partners with the best, including a new integration we’re announcing today with Aruba Networks. This summer, Box will be one of the key launch partners available on Aruba Workspace, a new component of Aruba’s ClearPass Access Management System that secures company data and reduces BYOD costs.

To help manage mobile deployments more easily, Aruba WorkSpace creates a separate, fully encrypted area on any iOS device for business applications and content. This gives IT full control over the corporate information in this encrypted space – including the content accessed, edited and shared with Box – but no visibility into personal areas of the device in order to protect employee privacy. Admins also have added functionality like remote wiping and device locking just in case a user forgets their phone while traveling or away from the office.

This combination of Box’s powerful iOS mobile app with Aruba’s app-centric approach to business content security will help the most security-conscious businesses harness the power of mobile productivity. For more information on Aruba WorkSpace, contact your Box rep or visit http://www.arubanetworks.com/beyondMDM.

Box for Outlook is one of our most popular add-on tools. Since its release in August 2011, our Business and Enterprise customers have been enjoying the many benefits of combining traditional email with the power of Box. Today we have some exciting updates that will make even more Box users excited about email again.

Box for Outlook is now available for all accounts (including Personal users) so everyone can say goodbye to traditional email attachments. Additionally, we’re also making the add-on available in over ten languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Chinese.

Need a brush-up on what Box for Outlook helps you do? For Windows-based Microsoft Outlook users, sending email attachments is a thing of the past. Check out the key ways you can take advantage of Box for Outlook to improve productivity when working in Outlook:

Add Box shared links to emails instead of attachments

If you want to share a file you already have on Box, inserting a Box shared link is now just as easy as attaching a local file.

Convert file attachments into Box shared links easily

For all those files you still receive as email attachments from others, it’s a breeze to automatically convert them into Box shared links before passing along to your team.

Reduce bandwidth headaches and security concerns

Box for Outlook also provides a number of benefits that you can’t get with Outlook alone or with traditional email attachments.

Sharing large files is no longer an issue since you can replace them with shared links to Box. Not only do you save email bandwidth and get your notes out faster, but you no longer need to worry about email bounces from recipients that may not be able to accept large files.

With Box for Outlook, you also have the ability to manage permissions and track who’s accessed a file on Box. By moving your attachments to the cloud, you inherit all of the great features you already have with Box.

The best part? All of this happens within the native Outlook experience, so you can work where you feel comfortable but still experience all the benefits of Box. With Box for Outlook, we think you’ll enjoy a powerful and flexible way to share files with others. Check out the add-on in action:

We’re always looking for ways to help Box users become more productive while on the go. That’s why we’re introducing a few new mobile features for our Android app today that let you view and share your content more easily. Let’s take a look!

Shared link options

After introducing collaborator permissions in our last release, we’re now adding some options for shared link permissions as well. When you create a link to any file or folder, you can now also opt to limit access to that link to collaborators only (those that you’ve invited into the folder), people at your company only (anyone in your enterprise account), anyone with the link, or no one at all.

It’s also easy to revise settings on the go, meaning you’ll never have to worry about keeping confidential documents inside your company’s Box account or waiting to share a private workbook with a select few collaborators until you’re finish working on it. It’s all under your control from your mobile device.

Audio and video preview

We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback on the file preview technology that we recently added to Box for Android, but something was still missing. That’s why we’re adding audio and video preview to the app today, making it even easier to sample rich media files on the go.

Since v2.0 of Box for Android, you’ve been able to see compressed versions of more than 75 kinds of documents right inside the Box app, helping you quickly review files like PDFs, PowerPoint presentations and Photoshop files. Now, we’re using that same server-side compression technology to let you progressively download and play audio and video files from your account. (Video preview is currently only available to enterprise users.)

This feature is particularly exciting because it came out of one of our storied hackathon sessions. We love seeing the cool stuff our engineers come up with!

Finally, we’d like to give a shout out to Łukasz Stefaniak and אלישיב סבח, who graciously provided Polish and Hebrew translation updates for this release. Thank you for making it easier to use Box around the world!

Check out today’s update in action, and as always, please leave any feedback for us here or on Twitter @BoxHQ.
