Box Notes Arrives on Android

By

It’s been a big summer for Box Notes! From rolling out Box Notes for all our users to launching support for iOS, we’ve been busy making it easier for you to take notes, collaborate in real time and share important information — all while on the go. You’ve shown us that you love using Box Notes for things like meetings, status updates, project outlines and personal notes, and today we’re excited to share three updates that will make Box Notes even better. Starting to roll out today are Box Notes support for Android v3.2, checklists and new languages.

Introducing Box Notes on Android

With the latest version of our award-winning app running on an Android 4.4+ (KitKat) device, you’ll be able to create, view and edit Box Notes just like you do on the web. Box Notes on Android features seamless integration into the native menus, allowing for all the basic editor features you’d expect: cut, copy, paste, bold, italic, underline, bullet list, numbered list, indent and outdent.

The Box for Android update also comes with a ton of additional new features to enhance your productivity, including recently opened files, advanced settings for shared URLs and fine-grained admin controls. You can learn more about all these great new updates in this blog post from our mobile team.

Checklists in Box Notes

checkboxes

I personally follow David Allen’s Getting Things Done and love checking things off my to-do list. It’s now possible to create checklists using Box Notes. We’ve created a new kind of list (in addition to numbered and bulleted) where each list item has a checkbox next to it. We call these “checklists” and you’re able to use them on the web or in our mobile apps.

New Languages

Finally, we’ve translated the Box Notes interface to work in all of our supported languages. You’ll have no problem creating notes and collaborating with colleagues from around the world as the text in a Box Note will automatically display based on local language preferences.

We’ve got more exciting features in the works, so keep an eye out next month for what’s in store!
