Welcoming Manjit Singh to Box

By

We’ve always worked closely with our customers to ensure their success with Box, whether they’re piloting our solution within a department, or moving tens of thousands of employees and hundreds of terabytes of information onto our platform. Towards the end of last year, we decided to take this a step further, establishing Box Consulting to offer advanced professional services for companies navigating the transition to a new IT architecture. The charter of Box Consulting is about much more than making sure customers successfully implement Box; rather, it’s about helping companies across industries leverage information technology and the cloud to transform their businesses.

As part of this effort, I’m very excited to share that Manjit Singh, the former CIO of Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Chiquita Brands International, is joining Box Consulting to build our industry consulting practice. I met Manjit over three years ago at a conference and was instantly struck by his forward-thinking approach to IT. Manjit has long been regarded as one of the boldest, most innovative CIOs of the last decade, embracing cloud and mobile technologies well ahead of the curve. While at Chiquita Brands International, he was the very first Fortune 500 CIO to implement Workday, and was among the first to embrace Salesforce, RightNow, and ServiceNow when they came to market. Later at Las Vegas Sands he implemented Box, offering early insights into how the cloud could be used in the hospitality and retail industries.

Because each industry is experiencing information-driven transformation differently, Manjit will help us build out vertical-specific consulting practices, bringing on other forward-thinking CIOs with experience in these areas. At Box, we’ve seen tremendous traction in Healthcare, Financial Services, Media & Entertainment, Education, and more — and we want to be able to support all those customers in the context of their respective industries. Given his background, Manjit will focus on Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, and Hospitality.

Welcome to Box, Manjit.

Manjit Singh literally failed the Las Vegas Sands corp because he couldn’t handle the pressure. He was ousted.
