1000 Stories. 20 Finalists. 1 Winner.

By

When we first launched the Box Mobile Giveaway a month ago, we couldn’t have hoped for a more enthusiastic response from businesses all across the country. The entries poured in, with more than a thousand people telling us how going mobile with Box and 20 Samsung Galaxy Tabs would move their business forward. At the end of it all, we narrowed it down to 20 finalists. But there could only be one winner.

Today, we’re very excited to name the City of Columbia, Missouri as the grand prize winner of the Box Mobile Giveaway. First settled in 1818, Columbia today is a thriving commercial hub, home to firms in the education, medical, technology and insurance industries. And with more than 100,000 residents relying on the city for crucial public services, it needed a way to share and collaborate and share content from anywhere.

Robert Simms, the Director of IT for City of Columbia, wrote: “Mobile devices – especially tablets – are becoming necessary to provide answers, complete inspections and give surveys, and this only works if the employee has access to the most up-to-date information. We’re a city government looking to become more efficient at providing services to citizens.” Now, he’ll rely on Box for Android to put the latest information at his team’s fingertips, allowing them to provide speedy, world-class customer service to the citizens of Columbia.

So what’s next? Box’s customer success team will meet with the grand prize winners in person to hand out Android tablets and get them started with Box. Check back in a few weeks for videos, blog posts and more about how Box is transforming their organization. We can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
