How San Diego Zoo Tamed the FTP Beast with Box

By , Social Media Manager

The team at San Diego Zoo was looking for a solution to a common business challenge: managing and sharing content with multiple groups, both internal and external. The company spans two facilities, and frequently works with outside agencies on creative projects. Unfortunately, they were stuck using an archaic, clunky solution to share documents: FTP. “Our FTP platform just wasn’t up to the challenge,” states Damien Lasater, Design Manager at San Diego Zoo.

Damien and his team decided to switch to Box, and now their teammates – along with external collaborators and vendors – can quickly, easily and securely access important content for all their projects. Another bonus: Being able to access content on-the-go. Employees can now view their files and collaborate from any device, including iPads, iPhones, and Android tablets.

Damien anticipates that he and his team will find even more ways to use Box in the future. “The thing about Box,” he says, “you get it for one thing – easy file-sharing – and then you end up using it in ways you didn’t anticipate, like creative collaboration and storing important documents.”
