7 Ways to Simplify Your Life with #Box50GB

By

Last week, I brought you the first post in our series of weekly tips on using your free 50 GB. Here are this week’s tips on getting the most out of your space in the cloud:

Collaborate with classmates on a group project

Avoid sending emails back and forth – and the inevitable email chain of doom – by inviting your classmates to a shared folder in Box. Instead of sending your comments to an email thread, post them directly below the relevant document. And with version history, you’ll never worry again about who has the most recent version of the document.

Finally get rid of your USB drive

If you’re worried about security, you may already know that thumb drives aren’t the most secure way to store your content. Instead of storing your important docs on a piece of hardware that’s easily lost or broken, put them in the cloud for safekeeping and easy access. Your content will always be there waiting for you, even if you don’t have an internet connection.

Create an email address for attachment uploads

With Box, you can set up an email address that automatically sends attachments to a folder in Box. Give this address to friends, family and coworkers so they can send important documents straight to your folder in the cloud. Learn how to set it up here.

Keep track of when people download your documents

After enabling a shared link on one of your documents (remember, everything on Box is private by default), you can track downloads of that file by keeping an eye on your updates tab, or by setting up email notifications.

Share your resume with contacts on LinkedIn

Our LinkedIn app makes it super simple to put your resume, portfolio, and other content right on your LinkedIn profile. If you’re job hunting, this is a surefire way to impress potential employers! :) Get it here.

Save receipts by taking a picture, then uploading it to Box

If you’re fastidious about saving every receipts, our iPhone app should make your life a little bit less stressful. Whenever you make an important purchase, snap a picture of the receipt and send it straight to your Box account. Even if you lose the original, a copy in the cloud will be waiting for you whenever you need it.

Share content on Yammer

Did you know you can send your Box content to your other networks with just a few clicks? If you’re using Yammer, the leading enterprise social network, share content with colleagues by clicking on the mail icon below a file in Box, clicking “post,” then selecting the Yammer icon.

I’ve been using the Box for a few weeks now and I’m just not finding anything wrong with it. The only think I’ve run into is a bulk uploads issue. On my work computer I think the applet is blocked or something. So I don’t think it’s Boxes fault. Not having an application (Like DropBox requires) makes life a whole lot easier. And I can still drag and drop! Amazing.
