Making Your Box Content More Social

By

Keeping a sharp focus on simplicity, security and, of course, sharing is part of the product management team’s DNA here at Box. With those three tenets in mind, we’re excited to launch a new feature designed to make sharing your content even easier. Users have been able to send links to their Box content and share documents on LinkedIn or other sites since long before I became a Boxer, but what’s new (and exciting to me, an admitted user experience nerd) is the simplicity with which you can now access these core Box functions. Check out the new look to the left. In just one click, you can now send a folder full of files to your co-worker, grab an embed code to add a paper directly to your website, or download the Box app for your mobile device. How’s that for simple?

We’ve also improved the accessibility of the many security settings that accompany our sharing capabilities, so you can lock down and track your content as much or as little as you require. Quickly disable a shared URL, prevent downloads, or – for our Enterprise customers – set a file-specific password or URL expiration date, all from one central, easy-to-access settings menu.

The feature is live for our Personal users today, and will be released to Business and Enterprise customers, along with some additional administrator controls, in the next few weeks. We’re confident you’ll find new and exciting ways to safely share your most important files, and you’ll have options at your fingertips every time you need to share. Try out the new options and let us know what you think!
