How to: Supercharge Your LinkedIn Profile with Box

By

If you’re using LinkedIn to network, keep in touch with colleagues or look for career opportunities, the Box app for LinkedIn is a great way to make your profile stand out from the crowd. With just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to provide additional content – like resumes, cover letters or even sales collateral – to anyone who views your profile. Another really great thing about Box for LinkedIn is that you can share content in one of two ways – either directly from your Box account, or through your LinkedIn profile with a Box widget.

How to share files on your profile page:

Visit Box’s page on LinkedIn and click “add application.” You will then be directed to Box’s Files application site, where you can connect your Box account, view your content, and specify a profile folder for public display. You can also share files and collaborate with LinkedIn contacts from this application.

How to share files directly from your Box account:

Visit the Box Apps Marketplace page for LinkedIn and click “add application”. When you click on a file, you’ll now be able to choose “Share with Linked In contact” and select contacts who you’d like to receive the file.

We think job seekers will find these features incredibly useful, especially since you can customize notifications and permissions around the files you share on LinkedIn. For example, you could allow a potential employer to view your designs but not download them, or you could set up a file notification so you receive an email every time someone downloads your resume.

Even if you’re not looking for career opportunities, using the app is a great way to share sales collateral or marketing materials from your company with potential clients or business partners. Or, like our assiduous recruiters at Box, you can even use the app to advertise open positions at your company. Overall, we think it’s an extremely versatile tool that will get your LinkedIn profile noticed – try it today!
