Cloud Convert Story: Box Good, Fire Bad

By , Social Media Manager

Welcome to our first Cloud Converts spotlight! We’ll be sharing a new customer story each week to highlight all of our favorite tales about how switching to Box has turned people into Cloud Converts. Check out Susan Brownell’s harrowing story below about why she uses the cloud to keep her files safe and secure:

In 2009 I opened a Box.net account for my property management company in Costa Rica and am ashamed to say I never took advantage of all its features until our office burned to the ground on New Year’s Day 2010. We lost everything, except for a few items in the safe – and what I had put on Box.net. After picking through partially burned files and piecing together what we could, we began to store everything online and I can truly say that Box.net has added value to the services we offer and become a huge asset to my company and our clients.

At first we only used it for our own data. Then we created folder for each of our homeowners. They love it! It’s free to sign up, easy to navigate, completely private and secure and runs 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world, which is especially nice for our clients in Europe and beyond. Even our least tech savvy clients can view and download their files, leave us comments and ask us questions. Our accountant loves it because she only has to scan the documents, then put them on Box.net — no more faxes, snail mail or unsecure emails. I love it because it’s inexpensive, secure and gives our clients instant access. Plus, it’s fireproof.

Thanks for the great story, Susan! Check back next week for more, or follow along by clicking on the “Cloud Converts” category on our blog.
