Introducing the Box Community: We Want to Hear from You!

By

As a member of Box’s customer support team, I spend most of my time communicating with our users. In addition to problem solving and answering questions, the support crew gets to hear about all the interesting ways people are using Box to share their content and collaborate with others. These stories often include really great ideas for improvements and new features, and we do our best to share these ideas and feedback with the broader Box team.

However, we realized that this input would be even more valuable if they were available to the entire community of Box users – now totaling more than 4 million! That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of the Box Community, a place where our users can vote on new ideas, participate in discussions around features, and get answers to any questions about Box from our team here in Palo Alto, as well as other Box power users.

There are two ways to join the discussion: click on the “Visit Box Community” link in the lower right-hand corner of your Box account, or visit community.box.net. You will automatically be logged in with your Box credentials if visiting from your Box account.

Once you log in, you can begin contributing using text box at the top. Simply click on the tab that best fits your submission, then click “continue”. From there, add the appropriate tags to help us track your topic. Once you click on “post your topic,” other Box users will be able to see your submission and respond.

Other notable features of the Box Community forum include:

- Simple voting system for ideas and feature suggestions

- Search for topics related to your interest

- Ability to “give stars” to other members who are especially helpful

- “Give praise” button – just in case you want to tell us that we’ve done something good ;)

Our entire team will be monitoring the forum, which means that product managers and engineers will be able to read and respond to anything you have to say. We’re committed to building the best content management and collaboration solution for your business, and a big part of that is ensuring that Box evolves to meet your business needs. We think the Box Community is a great way for us to have an open dialogue with you, our users, about what you want to see next.

To start things off on the right note, we’ll be giving away Box swag to the first ten people who contribute a cool idea in the forum. Simply log in, click “Share an idea” and tell us what you want to see next on Box.

We look forward to hearing from all of you – see you in the Box Community!

THere is a problem. It’s like Zendesk–it doesn’t like the Firefox browser. I get an internal server error.

Try again and let us know if the problem persists. It should work alright in Firefox.
