2009: The year of Box for Your Business

By , co-founder and CEO

At Box, we’re super excited about enabling all businesses to share and collaborate online.  Every one of the 38 of us is squarely focused on making your Box experience better and better. One thing we’ll get back in the habit of is highlighting what new things you can see from Box, on a weekly basis when we update the app. Here are just a few things that we’ve added this week to make Box more powerful:

“Related Folders” in your search results
Now when you do a search, you’ll instantly see the folders that the search results are contained in on the right side bar. This way you can quickly assess the common locations of your searched files – this list is even ranked by frequency, so you’ll know which folders are more important. We have a long roadmap of search functionality that will be rolled out of the next month – so look forward to these changes.

“Show Tags” in list view
While we’ve had this functionality for a while, we’ve recently renamed the feature to be more obvious. In the ‘view’ drop down in your Files tab you can select “Show Tags” to see tags overlaid on your files. You can also more easily add tags from this view as well.

Box is getting faster
If you haven’t noticed, the speed of your Box account should be increasing. The engineering team is devoting large chunks of time to make your Box perform as seamlessly as possible. You should continue to notice improvements on a weekly basis in the foreseeable future. Please tell us if you agree!

Till next week,

Aaron

    Aaron & Team,

Yes, I couldn’t agree more. Indeed the site is much faster than before. I am a free user now and I shall be signing up soon.

As a token of appreciation and efforts, if you can help me with a banner ad of your’s, I shall certainly place it in my blog and can post it in my signature line of a few forums that I visit.

Thanks a lot for all the help and support! You guys rock!
    Cheers- Jai

I can attest to the speed being greatly improved.
    I have just downloaded a 50 Megabyte file @ 1.0 MB/s
    Very nice to see.

    Thanks for the improvements!
