Hmmm .. upload to Box.net from Windows Explorer? Synching Box.net and specified folders?

The fact that most of the ‘Last Modified’ times of the folders are early in the AM indicate you’ve been pulling all-nighters on something special :)

Hmm… this sounds more than exciting! Could it be synchronization tool using a local folder & your box.net storage account for archival purposes? or a windows based uploading tool?

Consider my service upgraded, if I can use box.net as a 100% reliable & easily automated backup utility.

    Anxiously Awaiting the new release,

    Jimmy D

The significance is in the icons. Pictures (.jpg), PDF files, etc. are detected.

  • http://www.albanywifi.com tom

I think both ideas are on track – it might signify a desktop sync tool and that the icons for various different files types are recognized.

    nice work BOX team…

I’d like to hope it’s the long overdue sync tool. You’ll see a lot more upgrades, since this is the most critical function for many users.

  • Brian

Implies box.net staffs work very hard…….. until 4:30AM in the morning. =)
(Look at the first 4 files, they are modified at mid-night / early morning)

  • Aaron

Well, it’s related to sync :) (as in it will come with the sync software as well)… We’re being safe in our Sync roll out for now, if anyone wants to get on the beta list for it, just email me.

  • Mark

Perhaps it shows the ability to use your Box.net account as an “external hard drive,” with a drive letter and such?

  • http://5thirtyone.com derek

viewing uploaded documents without the need to download them to our desktops.. (wishes).

i can’t wait for the final desktop sync client to be released.

  • http://www.frenchieproductions.com Sebastien

I am sure that the new version of the sync software will mount a “hard drive” onto the desktop – and that will be really good!

    Well,waiting with impatience!

  • JOJOFACE

    @Mark: Like Gmail Drive?

  • Faraz

well.. since the last version didnt really work for me… maybe i can be of some use to your beta testing team and try out the new beta…….

  • http://www.nesteggstudios.com Vera

I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful your service has been to my small-global-game development team. Box.net has been a redeeming feature, after switching over from a very mundane service with complications.

I am having so much fun working with this new service, and discovering what I can do with it. (though, I do have allot I want to ask) I cannot wait to see more of your upcoming features.

    Thank you SO MUCH!

    Ms. Vee.

    Aaron,

I’d be interested on being in beta, but where do we email you?

    thanks!

  • Andy

Hey, Aaron, I’d love to be a beta tester for the sync app, but I’ll be damned if i can figure out how to email you…

  • gk

I’m guessing its DAV support, oh joy. :)

    I’d like to test it.

  • http://www.frenchieproductions.com Sebastien

I guess from the contact page ?

http://box.net/about/contact claes or categories or even support one !

  • Mark

    @JOJOFACE: Yep, that’s essentially what I meant.

  • http://musixzone.com Nendoke

Some thing like google drive on Windows , But for Box.Net . :D

  • ozgur

i wish i can able to right click and choose “send to box.net” option. And i wish i can synrc my documents real time to the my ox.ne t account

  • stripes7

ozgur…..Man if your right i would like be so happy lol that would be so freinken cool if you could right click a folder on my hardrive and select “Sendto box.net” LOL

  • http://www.sukhjinder.com Tino

I am a master beta.. lol, count me in for beta testing

  • Vorkronor

If it’s the box.net drive with a letter, then you got yourself another happ y customer.

  • http://djrowe.blogspot.com/ Frankfurt Kid

Count me in for beta – if its webDAV I am overjoyed.

  • http://rahulkapoor.bravehost.com Rahul

Its seems that we can use the blog webpage of box.net
much like we use the window operating system, like all folder operations and so on.
